The South-Central Region of SMART (Special Active Military Recreational Travelers) is planning its 2024 regional muster the week of Veterans Day, which is the second week of November 2024. The four-day muster will begin with members arriving Monday November 11 and departing Friday November 15. The muster will be held at “Sun Outdoors Northshore” RV Resort which is located just north of Interstate 12 at the Robert exit (mile marker 47).

Sun Outdoors has paved interior roads with more than 150 level concrete parking pads. Adjacent and directly across from the meeting room are 22 primum pull through sites which will cost $285.46 for the four nights. That is $59 per night plus $10 resort fees and state and local taxes. There are back in sites which will cost $210.80 for the four nights. That’s $36 per night plus the $10 resort fee and state and local taxes. These sites are a street behind the two rows of pull through sites. One or two-bedroom cabins are available for $504.13 for the five nights.

Attractions which our members probably will not use include a heated swimming pool with a swim up bar and a lazy float river.

The resort has a meeting room which will hold at least 100 people. This meeting room is on the second floor of the building. There is an elevator to access the second floor. The elevator will accommodate a wheelchair and/or a rolling walker. In an adjacent building, is a smaller meeting room which will hold only about 25 people. This room will be great for small meetings or seminars. This small meeting room has a small full kitchen.

The Central Regional Muster should have up to 35 rigs in attendance, therefore we have asked the campground to block out primum pull through sites 8 through 29, plus back in sites 30 through 43. To make registrations you should call the front desk at 985-520-6600. Inform the desk that you are with the SMART Central Regional Muster, then select your desired site, if available. There will be a two night deposit required upon registration. There is no cancellation fee if you cancel 15 days before your arrival date, which for most members will be no later than Friday October 25, 2024. Other wise the cancellation fee is two nights fee.
